If there is one up and coming brand that has celebrities like Delta Goodrem talking, its Mariam Seddiq.
From studying design in Italy to creating chic silhouettes inspired by background and culture, the Australian designer tells Patrick Tadros of Wedded Wonderland the latest behind her 2018 collection. “It’s really ‘arty’, but still remains wearable (and a little fun). At the moment, I’m obsessed with 3D sculptures – framed and precise, though the inside is messy yet so lush.”
Seddiq returns to MBFWA with a fresh view on trends, not to mention a mixture of embroidered embellishments and relaxed silhouettes. So, Australia, what are you waiting for?
If we noticed the black trend dominating the runway, as well as the black and white combinations, there was no missing the stark white pieces that appeared all over – from chic play-suits to one shoulder wonders storming the catwalk. Have a yen for some whiteness? Mariam Seddiq’s flared dresses and abstract shoulders are quite to cover it.
