The Beauty Trend Every Bride Needs to Know from the Australian Runway

The latest runway makeup trends are here, and it’s all about minimal and effortless for the upcoming season. Inglot makeup artist Courtney Sinclair briefed Wedded Wonderland on designer Mariam Seddiq’s beauty look backstage at Australian Fashion Week.

‘Mariam was very particular about not having too much coverage, so we’ve done some looks with a little sparkling dust and illuminator. Everything is very ‘glowy’ and wet-looking as Mariam loves a flawless look’.

Inspired by clay and glass sculptures, the Mariam Seddiq Resort 2018 collection celebrates an abstract, dark and ethereal mood. A fresh white palette was contrasted against stark black detailing and bias bindings. Pale pink complemented liquid silver and metallic embellishments.

This year’s runway trends were just as glamorous as they were natural. Gone were the thick eyebrows and graphic lips of 2016, as well as the heavy cream contour, which was nowhere to be seen.

‘Warm, bronze eyes are key – just very subtle with no need for shapes (and a little bushy too). The lips look untouched, but they do have a little tint on them with no harsh lines, or bold textures,’ says Sinclair.

For winter brides looking to lock in their beauty look, take your inspiration from these trends spotted on the runway: a move away from the heavy makeup style of Instagram, and instead, a quick and effortless look that’s naturally beautiful.

‘Women just want to look their best naturally – from skincare products to facials – most brides like the idea of growing their brows more without having them waxed. Everyone is treating their skin on a regular basis which means less makeup when heading out the door’ adds Sinclair.

And the newest trend on the fashion market?

‘We are definitely seeing a lot more metallic this season with soft vibes through eye-shadows even to lips. And obviously still keeping everything warm rather than cool this winter.’
